How long does a window tint appointment take?

A front two-window match usually takes about 30 minutes, while a full-vehicle tint typically takes 1–2 hours. Timing can vary by vehicle and requested coverage.

Can I wait during my window tint appointment?

Yes. Customers are welcome to relax in our comfortable lobby with Wi-Fi, complimentary drinks, a TV, and restroom access. You may also drop off your vehicle. A convenient key drop is available, and we’ll text or call when your vehicle is ready.

Ceramic film + aftercare

One premium nano-ceramic film—explained.

Performance, warranty coverage, curing, and everyday care after your installation.

What brand of ceramic window film does QuickShade use?

QuickShade uses premium ceramic film from SolarFX Window Films, based right here in the Kansas City area in Excelsior Springs, Missouri. Every installation uses the same premium ceramic film—no confusing performance tiers.

What is the difference between ceramic tint and traditional dyed tint?

Both can darken the glass, add privacy, and reduce glare. Traditional dyed tint is primarily selected for shade and appearance, although heat performance and durability vary by product. Ceramic tint provides those same benefits while being designed for stronger infrared heat rejection and long-term color stability. QuickShade’s premium ceramic film provides verified 96% IR heat rejection, 99% UVA/UVB rejection, and a manufacturer lifetime warranty covering fading, peeling, bubbling, and discoloration.

What is the difference between IR and UV rejection?

IR rejection addresses infrared energy that contributes to heat inside the vehicle. UV rejection addresses ultraviolet radiation that contributes to UV exposure and interior fading.

Will ceramic tint interfere with vehicle electronics?

No. Our premium ceramic film is designed not to interfere with today’s electronics.

Can automotive window tint reduce glare and add privacy?

Yes. Window tint can reduce harsh sunlight through the glass and add privacy. The result varies with the selected shade and driving conditions.

What kind of warranty comes with the film?

Our premium ceramic film is backed by a manufacturer lifetime warranty covering fading, peeling, bubbling, and discoloration for as long as you own the vehicle. It is guaranteed not to turn purple as it ages or is exposed to sunlight and the elements.

What should I expect while the window film cures?

Some temporary haze or small moisture pockets can be part of the curing process. Drying time varies with temperature and humidity. Follow the aftercare instructions provided at pickup before rolling down or cleaning your windows, and contact QuickShade if you are unsure about what you are seeing.

How should I clean tinted windows?

After the film has cured, use a soft microfiber cloth and an ammonia-free glass cleaner. Avoid abrasive tools or cleaners.

Percentages + laws

Choosing a shade and understanding the law.

How tint percentages work and the key differences between Kansas and Missouri requirements.

How do I choose the right tint percentage?

Lower percentages appear darker. Nighttime visibility and overall appearance vary by tint percentage, factory glass, lighting, and driving conditions. Use the tint comparison slider to compare the available options. Open the window tint simulator.

Does the tint percentage apply to the film by itself?

No. The legal measurement is the total visible light transmission through the factory glass and installed film together. A film label does not necessarily equal the final measured VLT.

What are the window tint laws in Kansas and Missouri?

The legal tint percentage depends on where the vehicle is registered and which window is being tinted. Compare Kansas and Missouri tint laws.

What if my vehicle is registered outside Kansas or Missouri?

Window tint laws vary by state and window location. Use the International Window Film Association's state-by-state tint law guide to review the rules for your registration state, then confirm current requirements with that state's DMV, highway patrol, or other applicable agency. Look up another state's tint laws.

What is the legal tint limit in Kansas?

Kansas requires at least 35% total light transmission on the side windows and rear window. Tint must be nonreflective. Windshield tint is limited to a nonreflective strip above the AS-1 line.

What is the legal tint limit in Missouri?

Missouri allows 35% light transmission, plus or minus 3%, on the windows immediately beside the driver. The Missouri State Highway Patrol states that windows behind the driver and the rear glass are not subject to tint darkness limitations.

Which state's tint law should I follow near the state line?

Start with the requirements for the state where the vehicle is registered. Drivers are responsible for confirming that their vehicle remains compliant wherever it is operated.

Is 20% window tint legal in Kansas?

Generally, no. A 20% total VLT is darker than Kansas's 35% minimum for side windows and the rear window on vehicles required to be registered in Kansas.

Is 20% window tint legal in Missouri?

A 20% total VLT is not allowed on the front side windows of a Missouri-registered vehicle without a qualifying Department of Public Safety permit. Missouri State Highway Patrol guidance says windows behind the driver and the rear glass are not subject to tint darkness limits.

Can the windshield be tinted in Kansas or Missouri?

Both states restrict windshield tint to the upper factory-style area. Kansas permits a nonreflective strip above the AS-1 line and prohibits red, yellow, or amber tint there. Missouri allows only the upper portion normally tinted by the glass manufacturer.
